Melanie Therese Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund Inc.

The Melanie Therese Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund Incorporated was established as a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization. The Fund will provide scholarships to homeless and transitional housing students, at risk and underprivileged youth to attend local community theater classes and various local camps and classes in the performing arts.

The theater experience helps these children develop imaginations, build character, increase confidence, improve communication skills, and foster a sense of belonging and commitment.
Scholarships will also be awarded to graduating high school and college students who were involved in Live Theater and plan to major in Theater, Journalism, Music, Performing Arts, Voice or Radio, Television and Film, Communication or similar fields.

Local Children’s Theater, Camps and Classes Scholarships
Scholarships awarded to sponsor acting classes and camps for children with financial need. College scholarships are also awarded to theater students participating in youth programs, plays, and performances who have been recommended by the theater selection committee and a member(s) of the Board of Directors of the Melanie Therese Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund Incorporated.

Local Graduating High School Drama Student Scholarships
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors or college students planning to pursue an education in Theater, Radio, Television, Film, Dramatic Arts, Communications, Journalism or similar field with emphasis in the Performing Arts. Recipients will have been extensively involved in productions at their high school and an active member of the Thespian Society and/or Drama Club. Selection committee consists of the Drama Department Teachers/Directors and a member(s) of the Board of Directors of the Melanie Therese Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund Incorporated.

Denton Wesley Foundation at the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas
Scholarships will be awarded to a member(s) of the Praise Band or Choir member(s) and used to assist with education expenses, retreats, camps, choir trips or performances for the Denton Wesley Foundation. Designation of scholarship(s) will be made based on recommendations from the Board of Directors of the Denton Wesley Foundation and member(s) of the Board of Directors of the Melanie Therese Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund Incorporated.
